Hidden Valley Springs Resort - Calauan, LagunaHidden Valley Springs Resort is nestled in a rainforest setting in the small town of Calauan in Laguna. It is known for its natural hot spring pools, waterfalls, and lush vegetation comprised of over 150 species of plants including giant Amlang trees believed to be more than 300 years old.

The resort is located between two mountains, Mt Makiling and Mt Banahaw, both known to be extinct volcanoes and the source of the naturally heated volcanic water pools in the site. There are a total of six natural pools including two shallow pools perfect for young children and a natural jacuzzi.

There is also a "lovers pool," aptly named because its secluded location serves as a romantic rendezvous for couples. Another popular pool is the "soda pool" or massage springs, known for its therapeutic flow similar to a jacuzzi. The pools have varying temperatures and contains pure mineral waters that are said to be medicinal and rejuvenating.

Apart from enjoying the hot and cold springs, other popular activities at the Hidden valley Springs Resort are hiking/strolling in the surrounding rainforest. Stoned paths lead to various scenic parts of the resort including the picturesque "hidden waterfall." Wooden bridgeways crosses streams and springs.

The resort has its own restaurant serving buffet meals. Folk singers provide entertainment to diners. An adjacent garden is set up for al fresco dinners if weather permits.

Other facilities include gazebos, air-conditioned dressing rooms, shower and lockers, a cafe, souvenir shop, and deluxe rooms with private toilet & bath, verandah or deck providing view of the rainforest.

To get to the Hidden Valley Springs Resort from Manila, take the South Luzon Expressway to Exit 52 (Batangas & Lucena) and head towards Batangas. Turn left when you see the Junction Inn Mansion. When you reach the "Y" intersection, take the left lane going to Alaminos. You will notice the sign that says Hidden Valley is about 4.5kms. You will pass by the Rural Bank of Alaminos, then the Church of Alaminos (on the left side of the street). Just behind the Church, turn left and follow the signs to the resort about 4 kms.
